Characteristics

This shrub is widely used in landscape gardening, due to its exceptional beauty. The tree can grow to 6-7 metres tall, with a straight trunk and pyramidal spread

It has simple, rigid, oval-shaped leaves with sharp spines on each side on young plants and on the low branches of older trees. It tolerates pruning and various types of soil.

The female varieties produce a glossy red or bright yellow fruit that matures in October or November.
