Picea Excelsa (Red fir, Norway Spruce)
Characteristics
Native to Europe, especially the mountains of North and Central Europe. It is widely considered the typical Christmas tree.
It has a regular, pyramid-shaped crown, its leaves spread horizontally except on the higher branches, where they are ascending. With a straight trunk, the leaves are rigid and sharp and glossy green in colour.
It needs deep, moist soils and prefers mountainous or cool climates
